Notable Changes from the Previous Year
The 2024 Durango’s looks and performance are nearly identical to the 2023 version. The Tow N Go package is now available for the Citadel trim, borrowing some features from the SRT trims, such as the SRT Performance exhaust. Other changes across the lineup include blindspot monitoring and an upgraded towing system.
Performance Specs
The new Durango has quite a few engine options. The V6 engine delivers 295 horsepower, while the V8 option has 360 horsepower. For the SRT models, the SRT 392 and SRT Hellcat are capable of 475 horsepower and 710 horsepower, respectively.
According to EPA estimates, the V6-equipped models get 12 L/100km in the city and 9 L/100km on highways, while the V8 models get 16.8 L/100km and 10.6 L/100km, the SRT 392 enjoys 18 L/100km and 12.3 L/100km, and the SRT Hellcat gets 19.6 L/100km and 13.8 L/100km, respectively.
Design Elements
The intimidating exterior design of the Durango pairs with a cozy and comfortable interior, and all elements are made of high-quality materials designed to provide superb ergonomics. It has three rows of seats, leather-wrapped steering wheels, and smooth surfaces framed by metal-look trims. You can extend the cargo space significantly by folding the second and third rows, carrying up to 30 suitcases.
Wheel dimensions range between 18 inches and 20 inches. Body-colour front bumpers and rear step bumpers are standard across the lineup. The Citadel and upper models also have standard sunroofs. The SRT Hellcat comes with a clearcoat monotone painting.
Technology and Safety Features
The new Durango is a hi-tech beast, it’s equipped with one of the most advanced infotainment systems in the industry. Entry-level and mid-tier models have an 8.4-inch touchscreen display, while upper trims have a standard 10.1-inch display. Compatibility with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay is standard across the lineup. Optional features include rear-seat dual screens and RCA and HDMI ports.
The 2024 Durango received four stars from the NHTSA as an Overall Safety Rating. Standard features include airbags and a blindspot monitoring system equipped with rear-cross traffic alerts. Automated emergency braking and adaptive cruise control are optional.
